Lust for Live - July 2018

We have another outstanding lineup of new music for you in July - you won't wanna miss this one!

Representing the local scene are the talented crew of Turn On The Lights. You might have spied them on the main stage at last year's Dream Festival where they wowed the crowd. They've spent the last 12 months perfecting their own brand of shiny pop with some awesome original music and are raring to make their Lust for Live debut.

Returning to the Lust for Live stage, we are stoked to announce Dubbo's Civil Hands. Having released a slew of new material at the start of the year as part of their 5 Singles / 5 months project, the band is itching to show Dubbo what they've been up to.

Rounding out the bill, it is with great delight that we present Hurst. Arriving on the scene in 2014, this Sydney based quartet have spent much of their time winning over audiences with their charismatic brand of foot-stomping, butt-shaking post-punk. The bands energetic live show has seen them showcase at Australian Music Week and jump on support slots with the likes of Kingswood, and FUEL (USA).

The band has released five singles, "Whine", "Tom", "All My Friends (Are Liars)", "Rattle Kids" and their latest mosh-pit anthem "Purple & Green". Each one ambushing airwaves, scoring airplay on Triple J, Triple M, 4ZZZ, Rebel FM (and more) and catching online attention on various local and international music blogs and Hype Machine.

"Love hearing this new crop of rock bands who're proudly wearing their influences from Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Paramore on their sleeves. This has a searing stack of energy and it whomps you with that chorus."
- Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J Unearthed Music Director

"Taking cues from the greats such as Weezer and Killing Heidi, HURST play around with genre influence rather than let it over take them. Rattle Kids, for example, sees them continue to carve their own path."
- Jake Wilton, AAA Backstage

FREE ENTRY. Music from 7:30, under 18's welcome in the company of a responsible adult.

Brought to you by Lust for Live Dubbo, the Macquarie Inn and the Old Bank Music Shop, proudly supporting live, original music.
